Project Overview
This was my first ever project as part of my Creative Digital Design Apprenticeship. I’m doing the Level 4 course, and we started with an introductory module called Industry Sense. For this, we each had to introduce ourselves to the rest of our uni group through a personal PowerPoint presentation. I decided to take on the challenge of going first and sharing my story.
As part of the same module, I also created a video called A Day in the Life as an Apprentice. It showed my daily commute, some of the work I was doing early on in my new role, and a bit about the people I work with. It gave a real glimpse into what my day-to-day looks like.
This project helped me support in evidencing KSBs: K1, K2, K4, K5, K7, S1, S2, S4, B1, B2.
Project Reflection
To summarise, I really enjoyed this first project. It gave me the opportunity to try out new software like Adobe Rush, while also revisiting tools I had used before, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, which was really useful when putting the video together.
This module was a great introduction to what we can expect throughout the course, and it was also a nice way to get to know the other apprentices on the programme. It was interesting to see how different our roles are depending on where we work, and it really highlighted how varied and diverse the Creative Digital Design Apprenticeship is.
In terms of the work I produced, I was not completely happy with the design and layout of my presentation, as I am not used to working in PowerPoint. In future, I will stick to the Adobe suite, which I prefer, and look into learning Adobe InDesign. For the video I created, I think it worked well overall, but I could have gone into more detail about my role and the people I work with. I was really pleased with some of the creative touches, for example the video transition where I pulled the brochure out of the Mac worked excellently and showed creativity in a video setting.
This project helped me evidence KSBs: K1, K2, K4, K5, K7, S1, S2, S4, B1, B2.
